Review: Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Facial Scrub

Since I run out of facial wash the other week, I scouted some new products that I wanted to try. Every time I visit Watsons - a beauty store, I will never leave empty-handed. I saw Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Facial Scrub and thought I would love to give it a try!

If you have read my post regarding Lulur's Whitening Body Scrub which I truly loved, you'll know why I impulsively got this out of other facial wash in the store. I just love everything that has beads on it and gives out the feeling of cleaning and clearing your skin. However, my expectations were just so high!

Since they have no tester in the store, I didn't noticed that it's not really made of beads unlike their body scrub. I just expected that it would be like the same as their other product. Also, the instructions indicate to use it every other day instead of daily. I feel bare when washing without facial scrubs or any facial wash.

That's my sister at the back! Haha. This is during application. Turns out there were areas which  turned red on my nose and on my forehead. I actually want to use it daily but since there were reddish effect, I will just use it every other day. After almost a week of usage, nothing really spectacular happened.

Yay for me! (。◕‿◕。)
  • Easy to apply.
  • Cleanse the face well
  • Affordable
Nay! (。)
  • No beads! (I expected there would be some) :(
  • Feels moisturized at first. Didn't last for long.
  • Whitening takes time (I guess)
  • Terms of usage. I want something that can be used daily. :)
Price: P70.00
Bought from: Watsons
 Size: 50 g.

Perhaps I just expected too much on this product. Let's see if after finishing the whole tube would provide greater effect. I guess whitening is kind of hard to notice since I am already fair.

You may still try this and see if it will work for you. I believe Asian Secrets are very effective since their body scrub really does wonders. :)

Let me know your thoughts. :)
Xoxo ♥

  1. Hayst... facial scrub... why don't you try using any of your favorite whitening facial soap and baking soda sis? This is my weekly remedy. I've read a lot of feedback with the use of baking soda on our faces kasi.

    1. Haven't tried baking soda. I'm afraid baking soda might dry my skin.

    2. Nope it will not. Check this one: http://skincare.allwomenstalk.com/ways-to-get-beautiful-skin-with-baking-soda

I'm still using this method and so far, my pimples dries up fast. And yes, no blackheads. So smooth :)

  2. I think you should make a follow up post on this one. Sometimes, such products need time to have a visible effect.

    1. Before really sticking to what you want and your skin needs, you need to try different types. From those, surely you'll have something that's 'hiyang' for you.. :)

  4. Great review! I used to be addicted to facial scrubs. Whenever I see a new product, try agad. But, you know what, the more I am keen on my skin, the more it has break outs. :(

    1. Aaaww.. Do you have sensitive skin? If you do, you really need to watch out for different products. Go for those who have labels for sensitive skin.

    1. Before sis, I was just using soap pero I felt my skin was always dry so I opted to use facial wash instead. Facial scrubs are milder than soaps kasi so it's better to use those. :)

  6. I have tried the facial scrub. I dunno if it was effective on the whitening part. I just like the clean feeling after every bath. I will try that baking soda suggestion of Jhari.

  7. Looking forward to your follow up on this product after using the whole tube. I've recently trying another Korean brand whitening face wash. I guess with whitening products we must wait a while before we notice any results.

  9. Have you tried the HHN facial wash with strawberry beads ata yun, I love it! The beads were very visible and I can feel it on my skin talaga. The after feel is great after I rinse. Fresh na fresh and parang minassage ang face after.

Curious about the baking soda suggestion of Jhari, too. Might try that out. :-)

    1. Not yet sis. There's an HNN store around here but it's kind of out of the way whenever I go to my place of work so it's a little hassle. Siguro if I have the chance, I'll try to purchase that.

  10. I'm quite afraid to try new facial products, kung kelan ako tumanda lalo akong naging tigyawatin :( at ang mga marks ay talaga namang ang tagal mawala ;(

I'm doing a mini-thankyou-giveaway to the fb likers of my site. You may want to be counted since you have liked the page long time ago.

  11. Using facial scrub gives me break outs--maybe my thick skin is way too sensitive! I am not into the whitening stuff but I dig the easy to clean part :)

  13. Oh, good I read this review. I'm tempted to try it because I've read others using it too. :) Maganda sana kasi it already moisturizes, too.

  14. Maybe if it had beads it would be harsher on the facial skin. I would be concerned about the redness too... Good review.

  17. I never tried different products on my face I'm scared of any side effects to it. for now I stick to olay daily moisturizer it's a lil bit expensive but it works especially on dry skin. But, it's good to try different things to see how it works.

  19. i agree, you're already fair so you can do without the whitening ingredient/s. i also need to always use a soap (and water) when washing my face. without the former, i feel the dirt and oil still on my face.

  21. Ahh..breakouts.. I think it would be best to stop using it then. Maybe some other Korean brands like the one from Face shop or Nature republic would be better if they have these brands where you are staying
