Review: Matte in Detail Liquid Lipstick

National Lipstick Day has passed few weeks ago and I wasn't able to share my own lipstick collection (tho it's not that much) because I was so busy and got no time to write nor update my socmed during those times. When I was checking on my lippies recently, I discovered some of the liquid lipsticks I got from Detail Makeover. I got a lot of shades on these batch but gave some away to friends and family before I even used them because it was BOGO last time I got them.

These were my first from the brand and I just discovered them from a makeup group. I wasn't even familiar with the brand before but I was convinced to get some for myself because they have a BOGO promo that time.

I got a lot of shades but the remaining ones are Sabrina, Naima, Rhea, Krysle and Mitchiko. I only had 5 left to review because I gave them away already. Let me share them to you one by one.

Sabrina - This is a plum shade that can easily glide on the lips. Hard to blend though as it tends to get patchy so prime your lips first for smooth application.

Naima - This is close to magenta and also easy to apply on the lips. Might feel a bit drying so a balm underneath and on top of it won't hurt. I find this blendable so it's easy to use for casual occasions.

Rhea - Dusty rose in a light pink shade. I find this difficult to apply and I feel that it doesn't suit me. My lips feel tacky and it tends to patch.

Krysle - Medium nude brown shade which is easy on the lips. I find this easy to wear and also applicable for daily use. Still feels drying as a stand alone product so a balm underneath is still needed.

Mitchiko - Medium pink shade which tends to get tacky when not handled properly.

All of their applicator are doe-foot type and they all smell like melon to me. In my own opinion, all of this looks good on the lips provided that there's a need to use a balm underneath or your option if you put something on top of it. But if you're brave enough to use it as a stand alone product, be ready for the drying feeling once it sit on your bare lips. It is really matte that's why it feels dry when used alone.

Yay for me! (。◕‿  ◕。)
  • Bought it on sale for BOGO for P225.00. Not a bad deal!
  • Available in different shades
  • Smells melon and I think it's a plus point for me
  • Pigmented
  • Long-wearing.

Nay! (。◕︵◕。)
  • I bought it at Cosmetix Unlimited and their stall on Robinsons Starmills closed already so I do not know where to get ow. I think online shop is the best option.
  • Really feels dry on bare lips. There is always a need for a balm. I  am a lippie person and most of the time, I just put lip products and I'm good, but for this, I really can't last an application without a balm.
  • There are shades that are difficult to apply.
  • Some shades tends to patch.
Price: Buy 1 Get 1 for P225.00
Bought from: Cosmetix Unlimited - Robinsons Starmills
Size: 4.2 g.

So if you are looking for a budget-friendly lippie that is long-wearing and pigmented, then I suggest to get this. However, if you are the type that just like to swipe a product in your lips, well, I already gave you a warning that it might get drying on the lips.

Overall, I like the product because they are available in different kinds of colors and it's very-pigmented. My only issue though is that it is really very drying for me. I am the type of person that always do quick touch-ups during work so this is really not for me. Sadly, I will not repurchase.

Have you tried the brand? Any thoughts?
