Review: The Face Shop Blackhead Out Dual Nose Strips

It's been a while since I last posted a review regarding beauty products. I recently gave birth and because I didn't use much products on myself during pregnancy, a lot of beauty stuff were stock on my beauty shelf. So what better way to experience them is to use them (or if I'll get the chance to sell the items, then it would be better because I can save up for baby! :) ). Anyway, one of the product I recently use is The Face Shop's Blackhead Out Dual Nose Strips. My whiteheads and blackheads were stressing me out for 9 months and it's time to get rid of them.

This item was given to me by my sister to try out. She actually didn't like it and told me to use it and see if it will work for me. Too bad because it didn't worked for me either.

This has two steps. I just followed what was written on both part which is to apply for 15 minutes. Both has the same instruction. The first one has a strong smell for me. It's just a simple patch with a little essence that you need to apply which claims that it removes blackhead by using cotton buds to softly remove blackheads. This step didn't worked for me at all. I cleaned it thoroughly but nothing happened.

The second step claims to be a Pore Tightening Sheet that tightens the pores after the first cleaning happened.  The mask was sticky to the core, makes it difficult to apply. Even this didn't felt like it tightens my skin's pores'. In short, I didn't felt any improvement on my nose area after the whole session.

I already tried series of nose strips and nose packs in the past. The most effective one for me is also from The Face Shop which is their Volcanic Clay Mask. I totally swear by it! It's super effective that I repeatedly used it for the longest period I ever know. It's just that it was always out of stock and I think they totally removed it from their line which is the saddest thing ever!

Yay for me! (。◕‿  ◕。)
  • Got it for FREE from my sister.
  • English translation was provided even if it's a Korean product.

Nay! (。◕︵◕。)
  • Blackheads didn't come out.
  • No tightening of pores happened after the second mask application.
Price: FREE
Bought from: The Face Shop
Size: 2 sheets in 1 pack

Overall, this is not a candidate to be a good nose pack. I tried others and those other were better for me. Not the best but still better.

I have a new mask to try which was sponsored by Miss Suzanne's shop which was Suzanne's Emporium. Will try that one out by next week and let's see how will that work out. Hoping it will be better than this!

  1. I just finished doing my nose pack, I am using the one from Watsons. It is working but I need to do it every week (though I put ice on my nose after to close the pores).

But I am willing to try other brands, it is just the pack I got was also free, so I'm using it. :D

    1. Yes, I used to clean my nose area every 2-3 days. Except from the one I favored from TFS, the Volcanic one, I haven't discovered anything that's effective for me. I have pending products to review though. I hope those will be effective.

  2. Must be so relaxing to try out those nose pads. I hate blackheads. This could be something I could give a try. Too bad that this brand didn't work so well on you.

    1. Yup. I'm a fan of nose strips and this didn't do anything at all.

  3. I sAw that brand as well and would want to try it. I have some real problems with my blackheads and whiteheads. Sad that it isnt that effective. This is the second time i heard about the volcanic clay mask. If not mistaken, first heard of it here in your blog. I should look for that then. Thanks b

    1. I think the Volcanic was already pulled out from the market. My sister's friend went to Korea last time and when she asked regarding the Volcanic, they say that they don't have it anymore.

  4. Free. Well, just for the sake of argument, it was not free. You used your time to test it. LOL! Kidding aside, perhaps it may work for other people or perhaps it really doesn't do as promised. The latter appears to be the case though.

    1. True! This is not free anymore. Haha. I don't think this will work that much on others. I somehow have the instinct that it will not, but of course, I might be wrong.

  5. I can actually county the number of times I use a nose strip in a year, and that is about 3-4 times. haha I am intrigued by the clay mask though. It reminds of the girl who fell asleep with it all over her face, and the removal process which she took the day after became an epic viral video on the web. I'm not getting any younger, so perhaps I should start trying out light cosmetic products like nose strips or masks. The only challenging part is that I have a very sensitive skin, so I have to carefully choose what to use. For the past years, I only apply the regular classic Nivea cream after taking a shower to keep my face moisturized.

    1. Nivea was really classic and works well on any skin. For you to be able to know what product is good for your skin, you really need to test it first. Hiyang-hiyang lang yan ika nga. What may work for me may not work for you and vice versa. You should try it on your skin. Always do the skin patch test. Put a small amount at the back of your hand and if it reacted or itch, ditch using it.

    1. What brand from Watsons are you using? Iwhite? Purederm? I hae a Purederm that needs to be reviewed first. I hope that it will work well.

  7. Congrats on your new bundle of joy. We always have nose strips at home but we don't always try new product in the market. We want affordable product that will do the job. So far we're happy with the nose strips that we're using.

  8. Too bad! I always adore Korean beauty products though. I am using some and they are effective. Better check others! Sure you will find good ones. By the way, enjoy being a mum! :)

  9. I haven't use a pore strip in ages! I remember using once once from the 7-11 in bangkok that was pretty good. The creamy ones that you wash off once they harden are better than the strips though I think.

    1. I think that's better too. I haven't tried those though because I think it's a bit messy.

  10. It's Korean? Well, with anything Korean and related to masks, I buy from Althea Korea. They have the most effective masks, based from experience! Though I haven't tried buying from The Face Shops but this somehow serves as a warning for future reference! :D
