Review: Menow Kissproof Soft Lipstick

A couple of months ago, I ordered Menow Kissproof from Suzanne's Emporium. My plan was to actually get all the shades but 4 of the shades were out of stock. I ordered the lipsticks together with two sharpeners but I only received one of the latter. I told Miss Suzanne about it and she said she will be sending another sharpener together with the other 4 shades which I didn't got to purchase. She said it's better to review the complete set so she gamely sponsored the 4 remaining shades and she sent them to me when her new stocks arrived. Thanks sis!

Kissproof lipsticks claims to be kiss proof and long lasting. It is matte and has a total of 19 shades and the color ranges from nudes to pink to red and oranges. I bought each for P100 at Suzanne's Emporium.  It is not a twist-up tube unlike the ones we are familiar with. I tried twisting it up at first only to find out that it needs to be sharpen together with the container itself. Kissproof also is authentic and there were no fake ones in the market so it's guaranteed that every Kissproff you encounter is safe to purchase.

Anyway, it was so tedious swatching all the lipstick so I asked help from my sisters. My eonnie Felice (a term used for elder sister in Korean) and I alternately swatched the lipstick on our lips and eonnie Julie took the photos from her Zenfone. Prior to swatching everything, I already used the lipstick when I was still working and before I started my leave. I get to use a different shade everyday. The first Monday I used #1, for Tuesday #2 and so on.

I noticed that there were those that were really easy to use and those that were a pain in the ass. I even dared using the loud ones in front of my students and I didn't care just for the sake that I can experience all the shades for the whole day. Haha.

I personally love #2, #6, #10, #12, #13, #14 and #16. I don't have any problems with each of those swatches. I can easily use them in school without scaring my students unlike #3 and #11 which were the dark ones. However, I like #11 because it can easily glide on the lips.

There are those that were really difficult to apply and those that looks dry like #4, #17 and #19. Those 3 were the least favorite of mine. The remaining ones were the so-so ones. They're just okay as it is.

Overall, not all were kiss proof. Some lasted 3-4 hours and others lasted 5-6 hours with minimal touch-ups. Minimal touch-ups means that I need to make sure that the colors were intact because I noticed that some shades actually cracks making my lips look dry. I always talk a lot with my work because I'm a teacher and I noticed that they weren't perfectly kiss proof at all. However, they still work great because there are a lot of colors to play and it last for a good period of time.

Yay for me! (。◕‿  ◕。)
  • Lots of shades to choose from.
  • Longevity was great for some colors.
  • It's matte but there are others that didn't totally look like matte at all.
  • Affordable.
  • Some has creamy consistency and can be easily glide on the lips.
  • Quite unique because the container can be sharpened as well.

Nay! (。◕︵◕。)
  • Some colors make my lips look dry.
  • Other colors are just too nah!
  • Not available at local market. Can be purchased online though with shipping fee.
Price: P100 each
Bought from: Suzanne's Emporium
 Size: 4.2 g

Overall, I like the brand and I have personal favorites but not all the swatches. I gave away some to my sisters as well. I let them picked their fave color among the set. I will be dealing with the remaining ones once I get back to work. I still have a lot of lipstick for review and I hope that I can have more time in dealing with those soon. I am a new mom now and I am just stealing time in blogging while my little one is sleeping.

Anyway, hope for more reviews in the future soon! I hope I can adjust to motherhood very well!
Cheers!

  2. Very informative review! I have very sensitive lips, and can't just use any product. Do you know what chemicals are used in the lipstick, and if they're suitable for all? Love the fancy colors, so many to choose from, and most of them make you look young! Have you tried using lipgloss on top to make them last longer? That was a tip I got from a colleague before, since we were required to put on make-up at work. But now, na da... I don't use any. :)

    1. Yup, they're suitable for all but if you have very dry and sensitive lips, I suggest putting on balm or petroleum jelly first before this will do the trick.

  3. Nice review. So amazed that you bought them for 100Php each, are they on sale? I love the nude ones but as you have said, some of them looks dry on the lips. Those vibrant reds are so fab too, I want to try them in the future.

    1. Nope. The pricing of Kissproof are really like that. Some I think are cheaper and some are higher but I can totally test that the seller where I bought this is 101% legit.

  4. I was going to point out that some of them look dry, but then I'd read that you'd already mentioned these. Good to know that some are better in terms of moisture and longevity. I like the colors on #2, #10 and #18. For P100 they're pretty cheap even if the buyer should add a little bit for shipping fee. Must be good for those looking for sulit make-up.

    1. Yes, not all were great in terms of application but I like that the colors were diverse. It's one of the cheapest lippies I discovered which I liked!

  5. So plenty of colors. i wonder how you would use everything and how long would those last? I love lipsticks as well but do not have that kind of wide collection. I see myself wearing numbers 5 and 14.

    1. I used them alternately everyday. But now that I'm still on leave, it's stuck in the house right now. I gave some to my sisters as well.

  6. Wow. You bought every shade! I only have 3, 11, 12 and 17. Before I used to think that it was retractable of some sort but it was not. You have to sharpen it. Anyway, Kissproof is matte and could really look dry. I apply petroleum jelly at times so I wouldn't feel the dryness. Nevertheless, this is a great review!

    1. I bought 15 and the remaining 4 were sponsored by the shop. I also thought that it was retractable at first.

  7. I don't like it when my lips look or feel dry. So it would depend on how much that is, if I would buy it. Sticking for 5-6 hours is nice. I love the variety in colors. Great review!

    1. I dislike lipstick that make my lips dry. So instead of ditching them, I try to use balm before and after the lipstick or petroleum jelly.

  9. My sister once considered getting a couple of shades from this same line. Sadly, the fact that she's flying abroad in 2 days after deciding on the shade hindered her. di daw kasi kaya na mapaship in 2 days hehe.. From your swatches it looks like I'll be getting 18 only.. :D

    1. You'll be getting #18 only or 18 shades? Sad naman she didn't get to try this but regardless, her going abroad is nice. She can get it there or get better lipsticks pa. :)

  10. wow you have so many lipsticks and only of that brand! I can just imagine what your makeup closet looks like. It must be massive! I am actually not a fan of long lasting lipstick but that might be because when it first came out ages ago it was so bad! When I worked as a makeu partist I also didn't use it because we had to change colors so often!

    1. I love collecting makeup and skincare products and making a review about them. I don't have a massive makeup closet btw. And why is it bad having long lasting lipstick? Isn't it nice yo don't have to retouch often?
