Review: Etude House Hot Style Bubble Hair Coloring in Cherry Brown

If you have been a reader of my blog, you'll notice that there's a difference with my latest face shots. It's because I recently colored my hair for the objective of removing my white hairs. I don't know if it's stress or genes but I have more white hair than any average 2_ish person out there. So before another school year starts, I colored it with EH Hot Style Bubble Hair Coloring in Cherry Brown.

It's my sister who told me to try Etude's very easy coloring product. This is a shampoo-type bubble hair coloring that works just like shampooing your hair. My hair is a virgin of all treatments and colors so I was kind of afraid in taking the risk. If you'll notice, my hair is purely black on the photo below. It's not really charcoal black but it's just plain black. When close up, you'll see lots of white hairs which really annoys me. I always got the reaction why I look young on the face yet look old on the hair. It's OA, I swear.

So for a change, I picked a Cheery Brown color. I want it to be reddish brown at the same time. I can't do striking colors like blonde since I am very careful in school. I just want everything to be laid-back and simple.

For the process, every material you need is included in the box. You just have to change to a shirt that's okay when stained so I changed to this DIY shirt I did a few weeks ago. The kit includes a gown around shoulders for protective covering, gloves, oxidizing developer (container) colorant (the color) and a treatment to saturate hair.

So after the process, here's the result. It really turned out to be reddish brown which I like. Though the problem is, it wasn't evenly distributed on the hair because my sister (who applied it) focused more on the roots so the hair in line with my ears were still brown-black.

I noticed that after a week, it gets lighter and it's now more on the golden brown shade. It's just a pity that the hair wasn't covered that much and wasn't equally distributed. But I really like the color though.

You'll notice that there are black parts inside the hair. The outer hair was covered though. I think I'll let few more weeks before adding or changing it to another color. I think I also need to chop my hair off then treat it. I have layered hair and it was not the photogenic type so you're seeing the different shape of the hair in so many angles.

Yay for me! (。◕‿◕。)
  • Very easy to apply. It's just like shampooing the hair.
  • Less waiting time. (Only 20-40 minutes as per instruction)
  • Different colors available.
  • It has a free treatment for conditioning the hair after the treatment.
Nay! (。◕︵◕。)
  • Since it's more of just shampooing, you're not sure if it was distributed properly. No tool to indicate that.
  • Expensive than it's other counterparts.

My experience may be a common happening for some but I feel that I really did a brave act. Now, I want to color my hair in different colors but I will always keep in mind to be gentle and choose good products by researching about it first. I have read so many reviews before I chose this color and I'm glad on how it turned out.

What do you think? Tell me what's your impression about it! Would love to hear your own experience on coloring your hair.

More colors soon? Be brave and be bold! XOXO ♥

    1. True. There are cheap brands of hair colors kasi like 40php lang but really risky. Katakot kasi full of chemicals sigurado yun.

  10. Nice hair color, it suits you. My hair as they say is still a virgin, other than the occasional standard hot oil treatments back in college I have never had anything done to it except for trims. My mom will kill me if I do haha, she loves it untouched and jet black.

  11. Your choice of hair color compliments your skin sis. It's my first time to buy an eyebrow pencil at Etude and I'm surprised that the price is not that expensive compared to other brands.
