Event: Cebu's Original Lechon Belly Opens at SM Clark

I was invited by Sir Marlon through FB the other day to cover the opening of Cebu's Original Lechon Belly at SM Clark-Hypermarket. I've heard a lot of raves regarding Cebu's lechon and finally, I can taste one myself. So Sir Marlon forwarded my details to Miss Sarah, the team leader for SM Clark and she asked me how many bloggers I can ask to join. Gladly, I got one new friend blogger with me, it's Nicole of Thoughts of Nicole. She's the first Pampanga blogger I have met personally. Thanks girl for joining me. :)

I arrived at exactly 10am at the mall this morning to witness the opening of the stall of Cebu's Original Lechon Belly. I was excited to grace the the opening since it's my first invite from a food chain here in Pampanga. Actually, Cebu lechon was obviously based from it's name itself, Cebu. This branch was their 35th installment amongst the 8 live spaces, franchises and stalls they have nationwide.

When Miss Gay, the very humble manager of the popular biz explained to us the history of the Original Lechon Belly, I can truly felt the passion they had in expanding this venture. This all started with Mr. Marlon Gochan's great idea of bringing boneless lechon belly to the people of Cebu from the simple and small business along the  roads and totally expanding through word of mouth by the citizens who experienced the great taste of their dish. They overcome the challenges little by little until they had this 35th branch. Truly, they left a popular and remarkable mark on the lechon industry in the country.

They have two version of their lechon, the original and the spicy one. Miss Gay said that they bring fresh lechon from Cebu to Clark and spilled one of their secrets with their great tasting lechon that it was cooked through charcoal. She said it was one of the reasons why their dish remains great. She even recommended the spicy one.

The branch is giving away FREE TASTE of their product up until Sunday so if you are around Clark or will be there on these dates, please feel free to visit them at SM Hypermarket. They will serve you with all smiles and I love how warm their service is. Kudos to the bosses Miss Gay (sister of Sir Marlon) and Miss Gladys Gochan, (wife of Sir Marlon), for being so down to earth. Truly the business expanded with your passion and your kind heart.

I ordered the spicy budget meal which retails at P100 as per Miss Gay's recommendation. The taste was so great that you don't even need a sauce. They include vinegar and soy sauce though for your convenience if you want to upbeat the taste. The lechon skin, (which was ALWAYS TO DIE FOR) however wasn't really crunchy and Miss Sarah said that it might be because of how it was packaged and delivered. So I tried to get some of the free taste of the original that the staff was giving to people and that one was crunchy enough. Guess it just a matter on the way it was sent airline. Nevertheless, this is the lechon that you will always wanna have. Very tasty and meaty!

In just an hour, people started forming and lining outside the stall. Everyone was so curious and started ordering in groups and bulks. No wonder how remarkable their journey has been. It's so nice to be inspired with the people behind this business' hardwork and perseverance. Hope you'll have more branches soon. Please consider one in SM Pampanga so it would be near my area. Hihi.

They're kind enough to send us 1/4 serving of their Original Lechon. My family was so excited to try it and we feast my take home for dinner.  Fiance wants it too! Guess I'll be back by next week there. :)

Congratulations and thank you for inviting us Cebu's Original Lechon Belly. 'Till we meet again. That's for sure! I'll bring my fiance there and the friends and family as well. I'm pretty sure your branch here will be a big hit. More power!

XOXO ♥

  3. Who doesn't love lechon right? I haven't tried them but I'm sure that this business will profit soon because it's now easier for people to eat lechon. Unlike before, I remember, lechon is only served during big events like wedding, or fiesta. Hehe!
